The AICTE vide letter No 3-24/DD/Admn./CC/35 dated 01 Nov 2013 has approved running of Automobile Sector in the Community College at Govt. Polytechnic Sundernagar with specialization in Automobile Electrical &Eltx, Automobile Engine Testing and Automobile Vehicle Testing. The Community College classes has started in the 1st week of September 2014. The details of specialized Courses Level-I alongwith intake is as under :

Board of Management under the Chairmanship of Director Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training H.P. Sundernagar and Board of Studies (BOS) under the Chairmanship of Joint Director has been constituted to Plan, Monitor the implementation of the said scheme.
Institution has signed MOU with four SKPs namely Maruti Competent, Hi-Tech Satluj, Dev Bhoomi Motors and Shimla Automobile(Mahindra & Mahindra) for Skill Knowledge to Community College Students.
